Pavement in the square is of cobblestone, is a replica of the colonial period in which Sharpe was a resident. Really, an amazing place to visit.

The Town of St. Elizabeth has its own history and culture. A group of slaves, also referred to as Maroons, ran away from their owners. They formed a union and were able to battle their British slave owners. Their unity and determination was so strong that the British finally agreed to negotiations and signed a treaty at Peace Cave. Today you can see performances by Maroon singers, dancers and also a bush doctor who can help you cure anything with herbs.

There is one sure way to enjoy marine life without trying to put on the scuba gear. Board a private boat at the Margueritaville dock.
