Now is your chance to have a gorgeous honeymoon vacation and travel to Montego Bay, Jamaica. What are you going to do when you get there? There are several ways to enjoy this beautiful place that can send you back home with a better sense of what Montego Bay is like. It’s beautiful and warm but you already know that. What else can you learn about Montego Bay? There are several different places that you can go in order to learn more about Montego Bay.
Rose Hall Great House has a lot of history behind it. Annie Palmer was said to be a witch who practiced voodoo and cast spells on those who forced her to. She was married three different times and all of her husbands died of something that was mysterious. The three husbands are supposed to be buried in the garden. When you tour her home you will finish up in the dungeon, which is now the tavern.
Pier one on the oceanfront is a great place to see Montego Bay for what it is really like. This pier is used for several reasons; to dock boats and luxury yachts, main headquarters for the Marine Park in Montego Bay, and there is a restaurant and bar located on the pier. Sample the best of Montego Bay when you stop by the restaurant.
Reggae sumfest is another great place to check out. See some of the best reggae performances. Enjoy the beach party first and then following that you can put on your dancing shoes for five nights of music and dance. You can see performers from all over the world come out to perform their shows to the many people who come out to enjoy Raggae.
Sam Sharpe Square is named for Sam Sharp, who was a Baptist Deacon that was hung in 1834. His legacy lives on as his last quoted words are also taught to school aged children as they study the history of Montego Bay. Pavement in the square is of cobblestone, as a replica of the colonial period in which Sharpe was a resident.
Calico Sailing is another place to check out. You can check out Montego Bay from the waters when you book a pirate ship. Enjoy reggae music and captain mates while sailing around. The tour allows you to go snorkeling off of the Marine Park. Then enjoy the beach and a water park while you are out.
The Town of St. Elizabeth has its own history and culture. A group of slaves, also referred to as Maroons, ran away from their owners. They formed a union and were able to battle their British slave owners. Their unity and determination was so strong that the British finally agreed to negotiations and signed a treaty at Peace Cave. Today you can see performances by Maroon singers, dancers and also a bush doctor who can help you cure anything with herbs.
There is one sure way to enjoy marine life without trying to put on the scuba gear. Board a private boat at Margueritaville dock. When you board the vessel you can go down below where you can sit in a room that has glass windows all around. You will be able to see in Montego Bay without leaving the boat. See how many species of fish you can locate.
The best time of the year to visit….

I can’t tell you how many times a customer will ask us what the best time of the year is to go to their destination. What’s interesting is that it isn’t just a matter of seasons being different in the tropics–there’s weather patterns that are very different in Fiji vs. Tahiti vs. Hawaii vs. the Caribbean…and I’m not just talking about hurricanes. Pricing varies a lot between low season and high season, and it’s very important to know EXACTLY when low season starts, as sometimes moving your departure date for your honeymoon just a few days can save you 20% or so on your air and hotel.
Of course we’ve written about this in each of our travel guides in a lot of detail, so here’s the links straight to those pages for your convenience:

- Best time to go to Tahiti
- Best time to go to Fiji

The eco trend of reduce, reuse and recycle has entered the famously over-the-top wedding space. One bride, Kate L. Harrison, as incorporated her experiences on planning a green wedding into a book, the Green Bride Guide. It’s not due out until the start of the 2008 engagement season – the holidays – but she’s blogging with plenty of eco wedding advice. My favorite suggestion of hers so far is the time-consuming but beautiful use of small-increment stamps.
Looking for a Great Anniversary Gift? How About A Luxury Vacation in Aruba?

We are going to go a tiny bit off topic here today. However, this post can apply to a destination wedding and honeymoon, as well as, giving your parents or grandparents the gift of a lifetime.
If your parents or grandparents have an important anniversary coming up and you don’t know what to get them for a gift why not give them a luxury vacation in tropical Aruba? With the economic down turn, this is a great time to plan a trip that otherwise might appear to be out of everyone’s budget.
Tourism is suffering from the lack of discretionary income: the price of Thanksgiving flights were really affordable this year. Traditionally, the Thanksgiving holiday can be a more expensive time to travel than even Christmas.
To help them cover the cost, you could book a luxury trip that your parents or grandparents will love. Start with first class airfare to make sure that flying isn’t a hassle and then book them a luxury suite at one of the many beautiful resorts in Aruba. Listen, they’re only going to have one 30th, 40th, or 50th anniversary, so go first class when possible.
Many of the resorts on the island of Aruba are all inclusive honeymoon or vacation destinations so that your parents or grandparents wouldn’t need to worry about finding restaurants or the costs of meals and activities.
There are plenty of fun things to do for people of all ages in Aruba. Send your parents or grandparents sailing in the blue green waters or even have then renew their wedding vows on the white beaches. Or, you could rent a beautiful cottage right on the beach and give your parents or grandparents a second honeymoon.
With a private rental they can spend some quality time with each other walking on the beach or sitting in front of a cozy fire at night. Luxury villa rentals often have a private beach so that your parents or grandparents won’t be disturbed by other tourists.
Most of the luxury rentals on the island of Aruba also include important services like maid service and laundry service. Some even have personal chefs or have catered meals including a fresh continental breakfast delivered to the villas each day. Book a day at one of the many beautiful spas for your mother or grandmother while your father or grandfather spends the day golfing or fishing.
A concierge at the hotel or resort can make reservations for your parents or grandparents at a romantic restaurant at night or handle any other special requests that you have to make a luxury Aruba vacation the trip of a lifetime for your parents or grandparents.
To top off the vacation, you should end with a great big anniversary party or reception if they renewed their vows attended by friends and family at the resort or hotel where your parents or grandparents are staying. You can usually get a great deal on rooms for the entire group of family and friends who are willing to fly to Aruba for the party.
With a fun party as the end of the trip your parents or grandparents will still get to spend their anniversary with their loved ones, but they will also have had a chance to spend some quality time with each other.
A great vacation to warm, tropical Aruba and a week or two spent in a luxury resort or private villa with a great big fun party attended by friends and family is sure to make for an anniversary they will never forget.
Think that a plan like that is out of your price range? If you plan carefully and get all of your parents or grandparents friends and family to chip in some money you’ll be amazed at how much luxury you can get for an affordable price in Aruba.
Plan a US Train Trip For Your Honeymoon

The top US train trips can go anywhere from a few days to a few weeks, and they can include lodging at upscale resorts and hotels. You might be cash strapped or looking toward meeting a budget for your honeymoon. However, a train trip can be a great experience, in that you can see a lot of the US through the windows of a train. Imagine: this was the way that people used to travel, and they relied heavily on it, so can you picture yourself traveling this way? Train trips, therefore, are not just excursions through the U.S., they are also a way for you to get in good touch with your history. You will need to invest a lot of time in order to enjoy your train trip, but not a lot of money in order to enjoy it.
So now that you have to get down and plan that U.S. train trip with your spouse to be, you may be thinking about how you should go about it. You might want to take one of the top U.S. train trips through the continent, which will allow you to see a lot of major sights, and to enjoy what the country has to offer. One of he top trips includes foliage tours of New England and Canada in the fall. This can be a great way to show your children the beautiful colors of autumn. Introduce your children to nature via the Yosemite Sugar Pine Mountain Railroad. Or you can go to the California State Railroad museum in order to show your kids how trains have evolved, and how people back then were very much dependent on them.
There are many different tours that you can take, and they can be as simple as a sightseeing tour, or as educational as a visit to a museum, natural park, or historical site. For instance, your children would probably be excited to see the Grand Canyon up close, and you could couple this with an earth sciences lesson on how the Grand Canyon came to be. There are train trips through the Grand Canyon, and your family might enjoy going through such a trip. Or you can take a trip through the country, from Chicago to San Francisco, on the Amtrak Zephyr. This two-day journey will allow you to go through different states, see different landscapes and pass through many different natural parks. Your children will come away with a better understanding of the country, as well as a better appreciation for nature.
There are many different factors that come into play as well when you start planning your trip. First, what is your budget? Are you looking at thousands of dollars in spending, or just a few hundreds? There might be discounts that you can avail of as a newlywed couple, as there are train tours that give special packages for those honeymooning.
These are only a few things that you should be looking into as you plan a U.S. train trip with your spouse to be. For more information, talk to your travel agent or tour guide so that you can have the best packages available for your needs and budget.

Las Vegas: Late Summer Budget Vacation
October 2, 2008 by honeymooner

With the escalating airfare prices and disappointing recession, one may think twice about going on a vacation this time of year. The economy is even affecting Las Vegas. Do not worry there are still hundreds of extended summer bargains to choose from. If your travel budget is tight, you do not need to worry– for you can actually find numerous destinations here in the United States that will fit your budget, and this will include Las Vegas.
Here are some tips to save you money on your Las Vegas vacation.
Plan in advance
Make sure that you plan your trip in advance. This means research on your part. Research about the place you are going to visit, and what it has to offer. You can also search online for discounted hotel and travel packages.
Be smart.
Try to find ways on how you can save on all your vacation costs. One good way is to cut on actual travel costs. As much as possible, you’ll want to avoid expensive air flights. How to avoid these? Well, you can find there are many cheaper air fares online. All you need is to search and compare prices from one airline to another. If you find a budget fare, book it on the spot. Remember to book flights during off seasons since during those times air fares are at their lowest.
Grab vacation deals
You can save a lot if you go for an all-inclusive vacation deal where they offer packages. Often these packages include everything, from air flights and accommodations to meals and drinks. And they might also include free admissions to other destinations in the city; many often include complimentary show tickets.
Las Vegas, often called the country’s Sin City, is the most heavily populated metropolis in the Nevada. It is also known as the entertainment capital of the world, with its numerous casino resorts, adult entertainment and even shopping glamour. Visiting there is certainly an experience you will never forget.
Best package deals made easy for you
There are a number of websites made especially for vacationers like you. These websites offer you the finest packages that will definitely suit your budget. Try searching Expedia which offers special sale rates, for example with a Los Angeles departure, they have four nights’ accommodation and airfare for only $244 and they will even give you up to 30% discount. Of course, the amount of the discount depends on how long you’re going to stay.
Like Expedia, Orbitz offers its clients $50 off for their Vegas packages with dining and spa treatments for good measure. Stratosphere also has an affordable package to offer you with rates as low as $50 a night and even includes discounts and activity admissions.
There are plenty of low cost or no cost things you can do in Las Vegas. You can entertain yourself by sitting in front of the Bellagio Hotel while watching the fountains which will cost nothing: not even a single dime. Or, you can also watch cheap shows for as much as $40. Other shows would include Viva Las Vegas at the Plaza only for $12, The Mentalist at Hooters for $36.95, The Rat Pack is Back at the Plaza for $49.95 and more.
There are dozens of attractions in Las Vegas that will dazzle you. Sometimes we may have the wrong impression that this city is a high cost, luxurious trip. However, it can be relatively inexpensive if you just do your research. Now, don’t think twice, book a trip to Las Vegas and experience the best late summer vacation of your life!
Plan a Honeymoon Destination to Aruba and Save Money

If you are looking for a honeymoon destination with a tropical theme but a little worried about the cost? This year but with the rise in gas prices and food costs and other expenses you may be worried along with the rest of us about the cost of a tropical vacation. Don’t give up on going to Aruba on vacation, just change when you go.
If you visit Aruba during the off season you can save a lot of money on every part of your trip. The off season in Aruba is usually from the end of April until November. Unlike other popular vacation destinations the most popular time to travel to Aruba is from December to April. This is because the weather in Aruba is usually quite beautiful all year long so the time when most people travel to Aruba is when the weather is snowy and cold and unpleasant throughout most of North America which is between December and April.
So you can take a summer vacation to Aruba to enjoy the wonderful sunny tropical weather and pay a fraction of what you would pay if you took the same vacation during the popular tourist season between December and April. You can look on the Internet and find great deals on airfare for vacations to Aruba during the off season. Comparing prices and booking online instead of going through a travel agent can save you even more money. When it comes to booking a place to stay you have a lot of options. Most hotels are practically empty during the off season which means you can get usually get really luxurious accommodations for the price of a regular room so if you want to stay in luxury while you’re on vacation in Aruba then booking a room or a suite at a fancy hotel or spa resort will be perfect for you.
But if you want to have some privacy on your vacation and you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of tourists you should think about getting a vacation rental instead of staying in a hotel. During the slow season you can find amazing deals on vacation rentals. Usually the owners of these rentals have the places already fully booked for the high tourist season but the homes just sit empty during the off season so you can book an entire home or villa or cottage on the beach for you and your family for very little money. The owners might even appreciate having off season guests and offer you further discounts if you are planning on staying for a week or longer.
Saving money on airfare and accommodations is just the beginning though. Everything will be cheaper during the off season in Aruba. Restaurants will be less crowded and less expensive. There won’t be as many lines at popular family attractions, water parks, horseback riding tour facilities, golf courses or any of the other activities that you’ll want to do while you’re there.
